Home Depot Confirms Data Breach
Home Depot recently confirmed that its payment systems have been breached and that the breach could potentially impact any customer that used his or her payment card at U.S. and Canadian stores since April 2014.
At IRFCU, the security of your information is our top priority. While we are still waiting to receive information from Visa/MasterCard regarding which cards are potentially impacted, we have our 24/7 fraud monitoring in place and are doing everything possible to protect our members. Once more information is received we will then make our decision as to what the next steps will be and we will contact you if your card(s) were involved.
In the meantime, if you used your IRFCU credit or debit card at a Home Depot store since April 2014, please contact us if you have any concerns. We can reissue your card(s) then block your old card(s) once the new ones are received (this could take up to 10 business days to receive new cards).
There are several additional things you can do to protect yourself.
Visa's Zero Liability Policy protects you from unauthorized use of your Visa credit or debit card when you notify us of the fraudulent charges. Make sure to regularly monitor your account(s) for suspicious activity and contact us immediately if you notice anything unusual.
Ensure the contact information we have for you is up-to-date in the event we need to contact you about your card.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
